Okay, so I just found your blog and I'm reading through the archives and I know that this comment is months behind, but I just had to pop in and say, "YES!" I TOTALLY GET OBSESSED WITH FICTIONAL CHARACTERS! I do not know what is wrong with me, either. I find myself out somewhere and constantly thinking, "Oh yes. Edward would like that" or "Hmmm. Bella would look great in that". THEY'RE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS! And while Twilight is a top 3 obsession for me, I do it with other characters also. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I once quit sleeping nights so that I could follow a cartoon love story in a Japanese anime story online.

I have a seriously unhealthy obsession with Edward the character while reading the books, which I am stupidly going to do again after the holidays. I liked Robert Pattinson in Twilight but am starting to lose interest in New Moon, he's just not good enough for me.

I also have a weird obsession with Jim and Pam from The Office. I was so moved by their wedding and kept talking about the episode and my fiancé had to keep saying "you know they aren't real people, right?" Maybe I don't.

Uh, can't exactly relate, but here's a good try. When my partner's niece was a little girl, she used to cry when Dolly Parton's tv program was over (every week). I definitely obsess about fictional characters sometimes. But then the practical part of my mind takes over and I starting thinking that if there was a guy that behaved like whatever character in real life, it would probably just be annoying or get tiresome after a while. I kind of felt that way about Edward. I thought it would be so amazing to have a guy so taken with you, but on the other hand - it would get annoying really quickly to have a guy want to be so in control of your life all the time, too.

I've discovered through the years that I'm not really the obsessing type. I never read Teen Beat as a kid, I don't buy licensed merchandise, and I don't pay attention to fan sites. I tend to move on rather quickly. I just think it's a difference in personalities. I don't collect things either. Come to think of it, I sound rather boring.

I will admit to allowing some characters to dwell in my brain space for a long, long time. Like Edward Norton's character in the Illusionist. Does that make you feel better? If I tell you that just thinking about Eisenheim makes me tingly? (Cause it's making me feel better.)

Yes, been there done that. Both with movie and tv characters and with book characters. Of course, at the moment I can't remember any specific examples. Probably because in order to "move on" I had to erase the entire set of memories....

When I was reading "Twilight", I felt the same way about Edward. The movie version is pretty good too, but the books are the best. In real life, that character would just be creepy.

Hmmmm....fictional obsession....has to be Riddick (Vin Diesel) from "Pitch Black" and "Chronicles of Riddick". Very easy on the eyes and good lord, sll those muscles!! :)
